I am a PhD student (since fall of 2020) at Department of Physics of Indiana University, advised by Prof. Jon Urheim.

Currently I am involved in DUNE (Deep Underground Neutrino Exmperiment), which is hosted by Fermilab. Specifically, I work on the PDS (Photon Detecion System) of protoDUNEs (prototypes of DUNE), located at CERN. My interests are mainly at analysis, simulation as well as a little hardware work.

Prior to Indiana University, I obtained my B.S. from Department of Modern Physics, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) [2016 - 2020]. (Download my CV)

  • [Dec 11, 2025]   It is my honor to give a seminar at the department of physics in Duke university. The title is Michel Electron Studies in the DUNE Far Detector Prototype Detectors. I talked about the latest result of my optical Michel electron signal processing both in Monte Carlo and data. Slides can be found here.

  • [Dec 9, 2025]   It is my pleasure to receive the Grant-in-Aid of Travel Award ($500). Thanks for the support from our physics department!

  • [Sep 11, 2025]   I made a presentation during DUNE Sep CM. The title is Michel e Studies on ProtoDUNE-HD. This is the update of my Michel electron studies. It mainly focuses on the simulation side.

  • [Jul 24, 2025]   I gave a one-hour seminar talk at the IU neutrino summer school. The title is Scintillators in Particle Physics Experiments. The properties and applications of scintillators used in particle physics experiments are well explored.

  • [Jul 15, 2025]   I participated in the 2025 New Perspectives conference hosted by Fermilab, during which I presented my updated result of Michel electron study (slides link).

  • [May 23, 2025]   It is my honor to give the plenary talk at DUNE CM of May 2025. The title of my talk is Michel Electron Studies Using PDS in protoDUNE-HD. Preliminary result of Michel electrons in PDS of ProtoDUNE-HD was firstly exhibited.

  • [May 22, 2025]   I attended DUNE CM of May 2025 @ Fermilab. A presentation titled Computable Graph Module for Full-size FD1 was presented. Fast optical module for full 6000 channels was firstly made! It put the finishing touch on this work.

  • [May 15, 2025]   I finished reading The Feynman Lectures on Physics (Volume III) by Richard P. Feynman, mainly about quantum mechanics. It is a great journey to go through all 3 volumes in the past several years!

  • [Apr 5, 2025]   I will go to Fermilab (Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory) this May and return until the beginning of Dec 2025 (6 months). During my stay there, I will work with Wilson Fellow Linyan on my Michel electron studies based on ProtoDUNE-HD.

  • [Apr 3, 2025]   It is my honor to receive the URA Visiting Scholars award for the spring round! The title of my proposal is "DUNE Far Detector Scintillation Photon Response Studies Based on Data from the ProtoDUNE Detectors". So many thanks to my advisor Jon, Fermilab scientist Linyan, as well as our IU staff Laura!

  • [Feb 26, 2025]   I participated in the NP04 PDS Performance Article Workshop (24 - 26 Feb 2025 @ Valencia, Spain). Contributed to the "physics applications" session with my Michel electron result. Further analysis is required and sincerely hope the paper will come into shape soon!

  • [Feb 7, 2025]   I participated in the DUNE LArTPC Software & Analysis Workshop (LArSAW2025) (3 - 7 Feb 2025 @ CERN). Nice lectures! Better understanding and mastering of LArTPC (PDS & TPC) achieved!

  • [Jan 30, 2025]   I made two presentations during the DUNE Jan 2025 CM: The first is titled as Computable Graph Module for Full-size FDHD, illustrating the preliminary training of fast optical simulation module for FD1. The second is Michel Eletron Selection on protoDUNE-HD, containing the photon yield estimation of Michel electron, particle gun simulation, selection on PDHD MC production, as well as Michel finding on PDHD real data.
